- Illinois legalized adult-use recreational cannabis on January 1, 2020.
- Adults 21 and older can legally purchase cannabis flower, pre-rolls, edibles, vapes, concentrates, tinctures, and topicals from licensed Illinois dispensaries.
- Illinois residents may purchase and possess up to 60 grams of cannabis flower, 10 grams of cannabis concentrate, and 1,000 milligrams of THC in cannabis-infused products.
- Non-residents may purchase and possess up to 30 grams of cannabis flower, 5 grams of cannabis concentrate, and 500 milligrams of THC in cannabis-infused products.
- Cannabis consumption is prohibited in public places, including parks, sidewalks, restaurants, and other smoke-free areas.
